Excerpts from a HEROs Story |

My name is Deborah Busch. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, and for the past three years I have lived with cancer. When I was first diagnosed I had such an amazing attitude, full of spirit and determination. I felt in my soul that I would grow and learn from the experience. I saw the blessings I had all around me and sought the opportunity to explore the meaning of such an event in my life. I amazed my family and friends with my positive and grateful attitude, and the ripple of my strength was profound. For eight months I sailed through chemotherapy, hardly feeling the effects. I lost my hair, and in place of my external ego found my inner beauty. I was weak and tired, but I was gifted with time to search within my own spirit for what I wanted out of life. I completed my treatment and was considered cured for almost six months... when it returned. This time I would require a stem cell transplant and high-dose chemotherapy. I didn't feel so optimistic this time around. I was terrified of dying and was given only a 40%chance that the treatment would work. I made a decision to venture in a different direction and chose alternative therapies. I worked with naturopathic doctors, I had highdose vitamin therapy, detoxed daily in an infrared sauna, infused my system with vitamins and herbs, and followed a restrictive and ridiculously clean diet. I meditated, did yoga, and energy healing. When I first made my decision, I had no idea if it would work. The therapies are very expensive and I certainly didn't have the money for them. But I knew it was my path; I knew it was meant to be. At the time, my mother and I were both training to walk a marathon for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society. She had planned to have a fundraiser to donate to the society, so we had the fundraiser for me instead. on my 25th birthday we raised almost $10,000 to fund my treatments. I stood among angels that day, right here on Earth, selfless and generous people united in an effort to save my life. The gratitude I felt in my heart was insurmountable. I was on my path; I was fully supported by the Universe and the amazing angels all around me. Be moved by the this HERO's message in "My Contract" |
